Creating community graffiti murals in Gloucester

In August 2020, Parry Hall and the Redwell Centre welcomed Your Next Move to run free Graffiti workshops for young people aged 8-16, delivered by the very talented Tim Martin AKA SLAZ (timarting.com).

Participants started off by learning the basics; they created their own designs practicing with a pencil and paper. Then they progressed to putting their designs onto the exterior wall of their own community centre. SLAZ taught them how to paint with spray paint and how to experiment with various techniques. Everyone was able to take a picture of their final piece before Tim put everyone's designs together and make two big murals to represent each community.

We were very fortunate to be able to have support from Active Gloucestershire, Gloucestershire Council and the OPCC to create these Workshops for young people living in Gloucester. It was great to get everyone outdoors and together whilst in a COVID safe environment.
